Phillip Wood-Smith Managing Director

Phillip is a Managing Director based in H.I.G.’s San Francisco office, where he focuses on investments in technology and technology-enabled businesses. Phillip is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including origination, transaction structuring, financing and portfolio management.

Phillip has more than 15 years of experience in private equity working with a broad range of companies across software, hardware, semiconductor, information services, industrial technology and business services.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Phillip was a senior investor at Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing, focused on LBO and structured minority transactions across the technology and technology enabled business ecosystem. Previously Phillip was private equity investor at Bain Capital. Phillip began his career as a consultant with Bain & Company.

Phillip received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Middlebury College.
