JAJAH Launches New Mobile VoIP Solution Exclusive for ItalyPartners with Italy-rooted Funambol to save Italians 98% on international calls
Milan, Italy – June 26, 2009 – JAJAH, the global IP communications company, today announced the world premiere of the new Go JAJAH service, to be launched exclusively in Italy. The new service, developed with support from Italian-rooted Funambol, can automatically update a mobile phone address book, creating a local number for each international number. When this number is dialed, the call is connected automatically and the caller saves up to 98% on the call cost.
To sign up for the new simple-to-use, ultra low-cost phone service, go to www.gojajah.com. You will receive a text message that will sync your phone with JAJAH. This process, which happens free of charge, will securely identify any international phone numbers in your address book, and create a new entry for each contact with a local number. No contacts are deleted in this process.
For example, if there is a contact in the phone “Alessia +1.650.701 1450”, Go JAJAH will create a new entry with a local number, for example “Alessia JAJAH 02-40042001”. When you want to call Alessia, simply dial that local number and JAJAH will connect the call automatically, enabling you to avoid paying expensive international rates.
Go JAJAH uses JAJAH’s state-of-the-art IP communications platform, which routes local calls over its global network for a small fraction of the cost of traditional telecommunication.
Funambol, the world’s leading provider of open source mobile cloud sync solutions, which is developed in Italy, provides software that powers Go JAJAH. Funambol syncs the international numbers in the mobile phone address book with local numbers and prevents duplicate entries. Funambol also configures mobile phones over-the-air and provides infrastructure for easy website sign-up. The software also provides security, monitoring, diagnostics and reporting.
“Italy is a world leader in mobile. We are very excited to launch Go JAJAH here, especially with Funambol,” said JAJAH CEO Trevor Healy. “JAJAH’s simple to use, low cost calling services have become very popular in Italy, so this is one of our most important countries. We are also excited to work with Funambol, which has open source mobile cloud sync software that fits perfectly with JAJAH to enable Italian mobile users to save lots of money on international calls.”
“When in Italy, I have always wanted to save money on mobile international calls,” said Fabrizio Capobianco, Funambol CEO. “Funambol is pleased to make this happen with JAJAH. JAJAH’s IP communication platform in conjunction with our open source mobile cloud sync software provides a simple way to reduce the cost of mobile international calls. I am proud we are launching this service first in Italy.”
