Marcelo Hudik F. de Albuquerque is a Managing Director of the private equity team in Brazil.

With more than 20 years of experience in Private Equity in Brazil, Marcelo worked directly with investments, monitoring and divestments in several sectors, such as: consumer, services, food & beverages, retail, financial services, insurance, energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, real estate, IT, telecom, health, agribusiness and pulp & paper.

Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, Marcelo was a senior partner and member of the Investment Committee of Gavea Investimentos and Head of Execution of the proprietary private equity department of Santander Bank in Brazil, where he worked for 8 years and was responsible for building and managing the investment team. Before that, Marcelo worked for Angra Infra and spent 6 years at Icatu’s Private Equity and Illiquid Strategies Group.

Marcelo was a member of the Board of Directors of Energisa S.A. (ENGI3), CSS – Cell Site Sollutions S.A., Santiliana Group, Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica S.A (TAEE11), Brasil Comercio & Turismo, Ambievo S.A. and American Glass Products Ltd. He was also a member of the Investment / Supervision Committee of Credito Corporativo Brasil – FIDC (long term credit fund raised by Credit Suisse and Santander Bank).

Marcelo graduated with academic excellence in Business Management from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets (IBMEC) in Rio de Janeiro, where he also earned an M.B.A. with a focus on Finance. Marcelo is fluent in Portuguese and English.
